On travel, thought, and the freedom of undisturbed leisure

She was on a flight, inside an airplane, during her favorite time of the year: Vacation. Travel. Exploration. The thrill of discovering a new place, a new country.
Or sometimes, the same country, seen through different cities.

Her favorite thing to do was read.
A book that sparked curiosity.

Her mind preferred movement, continuing its discussions while her eyes drifted across the pages

This time, it was a book of wisdom.

so What is undisturbed leisure?

As her fingers traced slowly along the pages, she began to see fragments of herself reflected in the words.

A young woman with endless interests – she had always been this way, even as a child. Curious about everything. Wanting not only to understand, but to refine, to deepen, to become better.

An argument stirred in her mind.

Undisturbed leisure, she thought, was the freedom to choose – to act or to remain still, to want or to release the need for wanting. It was a state untouched by external pressure, something that could not be forced, interrupted, or controlled by others.

She named it The Art of Solitude, inspired by the music of Spanish composer Adrián Berenguer, whose melodies she deeply admired.

To her, solitude was not loneliness. It was a space she chose.
An inner ground where one lives fully within oneself.

It was a rare essence of character: a mind driven by curiosity, intellectually alive, endlessly perceptive, and deeply devoted to learning.
An open mind, expanding through constant discovery.

It had never meant being antisocial.
Instead, solitude carried a profound sense of peace – a peace she rarely found in others, but consistently discovered within herself.

Happiness often follows peace.
A peaceful mind becomes a happy mind.

Happiness built upon external circumstances fades when those circumstances disappear.
Inner happiness, however, remains.

It lives within the mind
a personal decision, independent of the external world.

The first and most essential element of happiness is who we are – our personality.

She has been a stubborn young woman, determined about what she wanted to do and who she wished to become. That stubbornness shaped her personality.

And no matter how life shifted around her, no matter how circumstances crossed her path, something within her remained steady, her personality.

She understood then that solitude had never prevented her from beginning.
It was never loneliness.

It was simply being with herself.
